O ocidente descobriu as pirâmides de Gizé e o fascínio pela civilização antiga cresceu levando as terras exóticas exploradores curiosos.

Um fascínio que permanece despertando os nossos sonhos a viajarem, pela imaginação que constrói um passado que formou este lugar.
In Memphis was founded one of the most important monuments of the world, and the only surviving wonder of the ancient world, namely, the Great Pyramid of Giza. Its architectural design remains unparalleled and scientists continue to conduct research on how it was constructed. A origem da palavra pirâmide revela-nos a importância simbólica destas construções; composta por dois elementos da língua grega:
pyra : fogo, luz, símbolo;
midos : medidas.
Contam-nos que os topos das montanhas simbólicas seriam revestidos de ouro [lembrei-me das montanhas com os seus cumes sempre nevados refletindo a luz do sol e da lua]…

A escala do homem é esmagada pela escala das suas ambições… Parece que apenas as necropolis permanecem vivas após milénios… as cidades dos vivos desapareceram ou transformaram-se numa mutação de organismos que por vezes esquece o passado.

A UNESCO conta-nos:
"More than thirty-eight pyramids include the three pyramids of Giza, of which the Great Pyramid of Khufu is the only surviving wonder of the ancient world and one of the most important monuments in the history of humankind, the pyramids of Abusir, Saqqara and Dahshur and the Great Sphinx. Besides these monumental creations, there are more than nine thousand rock-cut tombs, from different historic periods, ranging from the First to the Thirtieth Dynasty, and extending to the Graeco-Roman Period."

Relembro uma história que se passa no Egito, que leva turistas ingleses a descobrirem este país entre outras aventuras:
